PM Modi participates in 125th Anniversary celebrations of Sri Ramakrishna Math in Chennai (WATCH)

During his speech, he spoke about respect for Sri Ramakrishna Math and the affection for the Tamil people and culture.

New Delhi: PM Modi participated in the celebrations to mark the 125th Anniversary of Sri Ramakrishna Math in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Prime Minister addressed the public meeting of the saints and devotees of the Ramakrishna Math. During his speech, he spoke about respect for Sri Ramakrishna Math and the affection for the Tamil people and culture.

He noted Ramakrishna Math as an institution that he deeply respects and said that it played an important role in his life. Talking about the Tamil culture, PM said that he has a great affection for the Tamil people, their language, Tamil culture and the environment of Chennai.

He said that he got the honour of visiting the Vivekananda house where he stayed after his return and meditated. The PM also recited a saying by Saint Thiruvalluvar, talking about peace.

Taking a jibe at the past governments, he said that the present government’s governance is based on Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy of breaking the privilege to ensure equality. He added that earlier even the basic needs were a privilege but now the doors of development are open for everyone.

PM Modi said that today’s India believes in women-led development in all fields from startups or sports to armed forces or higher education.

Earlier, PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the new Integrated Terminal Building (Phase-1) of Chennai International Airport. He was accompanied by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia at the airport. This step aims to boost connectivity and local economy.

PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation of road projects worth about Rs 3,700 crore in Chennai.
