New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi attended the NCC Rally at Cariappa Ground in Delhi and released a special day cover and a commemorative specially minted coin of Rs 75 denomination to mark 75 years of the National Cadet Corps (NCC). NCC is celebrating the 75th year of its inception with a rally in Delhi. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, 196 officers and cadets from 19 foreign countries participated in the rally.

Earlier, PM Modi released a commemorative coin of Rs 75 denomination on the 75th anniversary of the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO). The coin was released as a tribute to the relations between India and the United Nations.
Addressing the NCC rally, PM Modi appreciated the contributions of those who have represented NCC over the last 75 years, and have been a part of it. He said that the nation is proud of the determination and spirit of service of the NCC cadets.
Talking about the country’s youth, he said that India’s time has arrived and the ‘Yuva Shakti’ is the driving force of the nation’s development journey. He also lauded the participation of girls in the NCC and praised the Agniveer scheme to help women participate in the forces. He said that in the last eight years, the number of women in the police and paramilitary forces has doubled.
