Recruitment amid pandemic: UP govt to give appointment letters to 6,000 primary teachers by June 30

The UP government under CM Yogi has recruited 1.25 lakh teachers during the last four and a half years.

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh government has issued selection and district allotment list of about six thousand primary teachers through online software of NIC.

The verification and scrutiny of documents of selected candidates for the post of assistant teachers in the government schools will start on Monday. On the instructions of the Yogi government, the recruitment process has been started for the vacant posts of assistant teachers in the council schools of UP. It may be mentioned that in the recruitment of 69 thousand teachers, the posts reserved for the general category and Scheduled Tribes (ST) were left vacant, on which the recruitment process is being done.

The Yogi government, in order to meet the shortage of teachers in the primary schools of the state, had conducted the examination for the post of assistant teacher in January 2019. During the process of recruitment of 69000 assistant teachers, the posts of general category and scheduled caste remained vacant.

On the instructions of the Chief Minister, the allotment list on the vacant posts of assistant teachers has been published. The records of the candidates will be scrutinized on June 28 and 29 while the appointment letters will be issued to the eligible candidates on June 30. The candidates will have to reach the designated counseling center at 10 am on the day of verification along with all their necessary documents.

During the recruitment of 69 thousand assistant teachers, the posts of Scheduled Tribes remained vacant. According to experts, these posts could not be filled due to non-availability of Scheduled Tribe candidates. These posts are to be filled from the Scheduled Caste candidates included in the merit list. The government is continuously recruiting teachers to meet the shortage of teachers in the council schools.
