Row over Cong’s ‘Ladki hoon, lad sakti hoon’ campaign, poster girl makes shocking allegations

Dr Priyanka Maurya was seen as the front-runner for Sarojini Nagar Assembly constituency but the Congress list excluded her name. Rudra Daman Singh was named from the seat.

New Delhi: The ‘Ladki hoon, lad sakti hoon’ campaign launched by Priyanka Gandhi for the upcoming UP Assembly elections has been struck by sensational allegations. And, the person behind the stunning allegations is none other than campaign’s poster girl.

Dr Priyanka Maurya, the state vice-president of Mahila Congress, Uttar Pradesh claimed that she was demanded bribe by Priyanka Gandhi’s secretary Sandeep Singh. Calling ‘Ladki hoon, lad sakti hoon’ campaign a sham, she said that she was denied ticket & deprived chance of contesting election because she was unable to pay the bribe.

The Mahila Congress made several stunning allegations against the campaign, in conversation with a news channel TV 9 Bharatvarsh. It may be noted that Dr Priyanka took the lead in posters of ‘Ladki hoon, lad sakti hoon’ and was the leading face of Congress campaign for UP polls.

Dr Priyanka Maurya was seen as the front-runner for Sarojini Nagar Assembly constituency but the Congress list excluded her name. Rudra Daman Singh was named from the seat. UP Congress led by Priyanka Gandhi relased its first list of 125 candidates, out of which 40% are women nominees.

Levelling further allegations, she said the ticket distribution process was pre-planned and screening of candidates was a mere sham. She said that the party pressurized them for bringing women to the recently organised Congress Marathan.

She claimed that the party created a lot of fuss while distributing two-wheelers as promised in the manifesto. And, above that the whole procedure was marred by malpractices & fraudulent methods.
