
New Delhi: Rajya Sabha witnesses ruckus and pandemonium as the Opposition members voiced strong reservations over the agricultural bills. Claiming that the bill will strongly hurt the farming sector, they demanded its roll back by the government.
The heated debate on farm bills in Rajya Sabha today got dramatic as the opposition members rushed to the Well of the House, attempted to tear up copies of the bills and snatched off the Speaker’s microphone.

Trinamool Congress was strident in its oppostion to the bill. During discussion on the bill, the House witnessed chaos as protesting MPs reached the well of the House and broke the mike placed in front of the Chair while TMC MP Derek O’Brien tore some papers.
Leader of Opposition, Ghulam Nabi Azad, said the discussion should be continued on Monday since the majority of the MPs were in favour of that.

“To decide this, we should go by the consensus of the members, not by the numbers of the ruling party,” he said. Despite repeated requests, opposition parties arrived at the well of the house to protest against the discussion.
