Security breach in PM Modi’s Karnataka roadshow, police detains man approaching his convoy (VIDEO)

The police and security officials stopped him with force and he was later detained by the state police.

New Delhi: There was a security breach observed during PM Narendra Modi’s roadshow in Davanagere, Karnataka on March 25. A man tried to run towards his convoy. The police and security officials stopped him with force and he was later detained by the state police.

PM Modi held a roadshow and also addressed a public meeting in Davanagere ahead of the Karnataka Assembly Elections due this year. PM Modi’s convoy was greeted by many supporters in Davanagere as he acknowledged and waved back at them.

The person hails from Koppal and the details about the background or the intent of the person detained have not yet been revealed by the police.

Meanwhile, there was a security lapse in the Prime Minister’s convoy in Punjab and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann ordered disciplinary action against former DGP S Chattopadhyaya and two other police officers involved.

While addressing the public meeting titled ‘Vijaya Sankalp Yatre Maha Sangama’, PM Modi lauded the “double-engine government”. He also called out the dirty politics and said that BJP has transformed the ‘Politics of Perception’ into the ‘Politics of Performance’. He also targeted Congress and said that the party only looks to fill their own pockets.

The assembly elections are likely to be held in April-May and an official announcement by the Election Commission is awaited. BJP and Janata Dal-Secular have began their campaign with leaders addressing public rallies.
