Singer Honey Singh appears in Tis Hazari court, seeks in-camera hearing in domestic violence case

In the last hearing, the court had pulled up Honey Singh after he failed to appear before it and gave him a final warning. The singer cited his poor health for not appearing on previous date. The Court has fixed September 28 as next date of hearing.

New Delhi: Punjabi singer Yo Yo Honey Singh appeared in Tiz Hazari court on Friday, in connection with domestic violence lodged against him by his wife. The popular singer was accompanied by battery of lawyers.

Hirdesh Singh aka Honey Singh is facing domestic violence case, as his wife alleged that she was verbally, mentally and physically abused by her husband, on many occasions.

Meanwhile, the singer has moved an application for in-camera hearing of the case, which means the case will not be done in presence of public or press.

At the court, Honey Singh and his wife Shalini Talwar were called by Metropolitan Magistrate Tania Singh in her chamber and counselled.

Honey’s wife seeking Rs 20 compensation

Shalini Talwar, in her complaint, alleged that she underwent mental and physical agony as she was subjected to physical assault in last 10 years of their marriage. She also claimed that her husband cheated on her and had many illicit relations with other women.

Honey Singh’s family members are also in the dock over alleged atrocity on her. In her complaint, she claimed that she was driven to such an extent that she felt like a ‘farm animal’.

Ms Talwar has demanded Rs 20 compensation from the singer. The duo got married on January 23, 2011.
