New Delhi: For the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections, Congress party on Monday released a list of its 30 star campaigners.
The list includes names of Congress’ Interim President Sonia Gandhi, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, etc.
Sachin Pilot, Randip Singh Surjewala, Ashok Gehlot and Navjot Singh Sidhu are also part of Congress list, who will seek to sway public opinion in favour of grand old party.
However, one name that is garnering attention is the name of Rajya Sabha MP Manish Tewari — who is part of the ‘G23’ faction of rebel leaders. Most of G23 leaders have been ignored or given a miss.
Last year, this group of 23 senior Congress leaders wrote a strongly worded letter to party president Sonia Gandhi, raising questions over the manner in which the party is being led.
