Suspense ends at legislature party meeting, Pramod Sawant to hold Goa CM office again

The incumbent Chief Minister of Goa Pramod Sawant is ready to hold office once again after his name confirmed in the legislature party meeting today.

New Delhi: The incumbent Chief Minister of Goa Pramod Sawant is ready to hold office once again. The decision came after the legislature party meeting held on Monday.

Notably, it will his second term in the office. He had become CM in 2019 after the death of the then CM Manohar Prrikar.

After the meeting, many BJP leaders such as Assam CM  Himanta Biswa Sarma, former Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy took to Twitter to congratulate Pramod Sawant on being elected as the CM of Goa.

Fadnavis was also the GOA BJP election in charge.

On the occasion, Mr Sawant wrote on Twitter, ”I thank Goa BJP MLAs, Karyakartas for their support and for working hard in reaching to the people with the vision of BJP’s Governance and bringing the Double Engine Govt back in Goa.”

Under his leadership, the Bharatiya Janata Party won 20 seats in the 2022 Goa Assembly election. As per the result announced by the Election Commission, Indian National Congress will again hold the position of opposition in the assembly.
Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi party secured 2 seats in the election.

Earlier on Sunday Sawant had said, ”I am happy that I was able to get 20 seats for my party. BJP observers are coming tomorrow for the Party Legislature meeting. Everything will be decided in the meeting tomorrow. I’ll gladly accept the responsibility given by the party.”
