New Delhi: A man in Tamil Nadu bought a car worth Rs. 6 lakhs with Rs. 10 coins that he had collected over a month.

He took this decision after people did not accept Rs 10 coins.

The employees of a prominent vehicle dealer in Dharmapuri were in for a major surprise, when a man came to the showroom with a vehicle full of Rs 10 coins to buy a car.

Vetrivel, from Arur, said that his mother runs a shop and he has seen several cases when customers refused to take Rs 10 coins, leading to a large heap of those coins at his home.

He further said that bank policy to not accept coins is arbitrary as no official guideline requires any financial institution to do so.

He spent months to collect the Rs 10 coins worth Rs 6 lakh to buy the car.

Seeing this, the car dealer was at reluctant to initiate the transaction at first but, seeing his determination the deal was accepted.
