New Delhi: The Kashmir Files, movie which has been in the eye of storm, registered a magnificent opening by amassing Rs 3.55 crore on first day of hitting the theatres.
The movie has been in the crosshairs of critics for controversial depiction of atrocities on Kashmiri Pandits during 1990s, a charge strongly refuted by director Vivek Agnihotri. The movie released as per its schedule on March 11 but in between it faced multiple hiccups including legal barriers.
On Day 1 of its release, the movie collected a sum of Rs 3.55 crore despite opening in less number of screens and is also going strong during the weekend. The movie is a true story based on the lives of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990s during the Kashmir insurgency.
