
New Delhi: Ricky Kej made India proud by grabbing the prestigious Grammy Awards for second time. He was American-born but has his roots in Bengaluru. Soon after his name & Indian American Falguni Shah’s names were announced as award winners, the news came flying to Indian shores.
On Thursday, Bengaluru-based musician Ricky Kej met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and got a pat on his back for his achievements & constant endeavours in the music world.

Ricky Kej won his second Grammy award earlier this month for Best New Age Album for his composition Divine Tides. His first Grammy came in 2015 for his album Winds of Samsara in the Best New Age Album category.

According to its official website, Divine Tides is a nine-song album, which aims to give out the message that ”each individual life plays a crucial role in maintaining the balance that serves all equally”.

Ricky Kej was born in North Carolina in the United States and moved to Bengaluru when he was 8. He was fascinated with music and also took it up at a very tender age. While studying at Bengaluru school, he would harbour get enamoured with friends playing guitar and harboured ambitions of becoming a musician.
