New Delhi: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called PM Narendra Modi to wish for a successful G20 presidency and thank him for India’s support during the conflict. Zelenskyy shared a tweet to inform about the telephone conversation with PM Modi. He also announced the peace formula and urged India to participate in its implementation.

Sharing the tweet, Zelenskyy wrote that he announced the peace formula on the platform of the G20 summit in Bali, Indonesia and is counting on India’s participation for its implementation as now India holds the presidency. He went on to thank PM Modi for the humanitarian aid to Ukraine during the conflict with Russia and for support in the UN.

In their last phone call in October, the leaders of the two countries talked about Ukraine-India relations and Ukraine not conducting any negotiations with Russia. Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Narendra Modi also discussed the issue of global food security.

India took over the G20 presidency on December 1 and the summit will be held in September 2023. The summit will be a culmination of all the G20 processes and meetings held throughout the year among ministers, senior officials, and civil societies. The first meeting of the Development Working Group (DWG) took place in Mumbai from December 13 to 16.
