UP: 1st phase of Sanskrit Sambhashan ends, online classes a game changer; foreigners also enrolling for ‘language of god’

The closing ceremony of online Sanskrit Sambhashan classes was held at various places across the state on August 11, 2021. Sanskrit Sambhashan is a scheme run by Uttar Pradesh Sanskrit Sansthanam, under the aegis of Language Department of the UP government.

New Delhi: The first phase of Sanskrit SAMBHASHAN program has concluded successfully, with 99% of students clearing the exams with good marks. The 20-day online classes were launched in Uttar Pradesh to promote Sanskrit language among students.

NOOTAN Vishnu Regmi, Sanskrit language instructor of the institute from Gorakhnath Sanskrit Vidyapeeth, Gorakhpur coordinated the concluding program through Google Meet. The program was conducted by Satish Sharma, the language instructor of the institute from Annapurna Gurukul in Vrajghat, Garhmukteshwar, Uttar Pradesh.

Sanskrit scholar Dr Madhusudan Mishra from Jammu and Kashmir graced the occasion as the chief guest. He told the participants how Sanskrit language can prove effective in stopping ‘blind imitation’ of the western culture.

Satish Sharma and NOOTAN Vishnu Regmi also shared their experience how they learned this new technique of conducting online classes. They said that wIth this new experience of conducting a Sanskrit class online, Sanskrit Sambhashan will find strong connect with people of the country & foreigners as well.

Many students were also part of the program, with many reciting Sanskrit songs also during the program.

Examination was held on August 10 at 7-8 PM, 20 days after the online classes. 99% of students cleared the exams with good marks. They will be provided certificate by the Institute soon. The classes are also finding traction among foreigners as they have also shown interest in it and also enrolling for the classes.

Among the key govt functionaries who made this a success include Pawan Kumar (IAS), Director, UP Sanskrit Sansthan, President Dr Vachaspati Mishra and training head Sudhist Kumar Mishra. The institute is now in process of giving concrete shape to second level of Sanskrit Sambhashan scheme which will soon roll out.
