UP: BC Sakhi program moves at fast pace, 56,532 rural women to be appointed by April

The training program me of 56,875 BC Sakhi has been undertaken and they will be seen on the ground by April, fulfilling chief minister’s dream of making rural women self-reliant.

New Delhi: Yogi government’s Business Correspondent for Banks (BC) Sakhi scheme, aimed at making rural women self-reliant is progressing at a brisk pace and will soon see light of the day. The ambitious program has rather already started benefiting the rural women in a big way.

The training program me of 56,875 BC Sakhi has been undertaken and they will be seen on the ground by April, fulfilling chief minister’s dream of making rural women self-reliant.

A total of 58532 BC Sakhis, one each in every gram panchayat of the state, will be appointed in the state.

The scheme’s objective is to train the rural women efficiently in all 75 districts by March itself. Once they take up work in April this year, this will serve the purpose of ‘Mission Shakti’ and ‘Mission Rojgar’.

State Project Manager, Diwakar Singh said, “Training programs for rural women started in 28 districts of the state in January and the same will begin in other 47 districts next week. In every district, groups of 30–30 women are undergoing training which is being done by the Rural Self Employment Institute.”

Undoubtedly, the women of rural community have a lot to look forward to especially a bright future, thanks to visionary schemes of Yogi government.

From April, BC Sakhi will take command in villages

Under this scheme, rural people will benefit by getting banking facilities in their own village without any glitch. BC Sakhi will inform, aware and educate people about the government’s golden schemes like Kanya Sumangala Yojana, Widow Pension Scheme to uplift rural areas. Additional Chief Secretary, Village Development Department, Manoj Kumar Singh stated that, the Government’s ‘Digital India campaign’ has made life of people much easier. The campaign has fulfilled people’s desire of getting easy employment opportunities even from their homes.

Uttar Pradesh will become the first state in the country to execute such a scheme to provide employment to women. The Government is determined towards making women stronger and self-reliant with schemes like ‘Mission Shakti’ at the grassroot level.

Process of Examination after Training

Under this scheme, there will be an examination of women after training. The women who pass this exam will get a chance to work as a ‘banking sakhi’. In case any woman fails, arrangements will be made to send other women for training. Around 550 women passed this exam last week.
