UP: Covid-19 cases drop to 22, test positivity rate dips to 0.01%; recovery rate climbs to 98.7%

Under the new guidelines, the state government announced a revision in night curfew timings which will now be in force from 11pm to 6am. Earlier, the curfew was being imposed from 10 pm.

New Delhi: Signalling effective control over the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, a total of 22 new cases were recorded in the most populous state in the last 24 hours.

The fresh cases have declined by more than 38,000 from its peak which was 38,055 on April 24 and have remained below the 50-mark for four consecutive weeks now.

The lesser number of fresh cases on Tuesday, however, is not because Uttar Pradesh, like other states, has decreased COVID testing. The Yogi-led state under its stringent T3 testing mechanism-’Trace, Test and Treat’ conducted more than 1.82 Lakh Covid tests in the last 24 hours.
With this encouraging sign, the state’s recovery rate has climbed up to a remarkable 98.7 percent testifying the success of ‘UP Model of Covid-19 management’ implemented by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The Active Covid Cases have also declined to 227, making it the lowest active case-count for the state since the second wave surge of cases.
The Test Positivity Rate (TPR) – which shows the level of infections among people – has been registering a steep decline for several days indicating signs that the dangerous Covid wave is receding from the state. The TPR stands at 0.01 percent in Uttar Pradesh, the lowest in the country.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday announced further easing of covid-induced night curfew restrictions in Uttar Pradesh. Under the new guidelines, the state government announced a revision in night curfew timings which will now be in force from 11pm to 6am. Earlier, the curfew was being imposed from 10 pm.
