UP Elections: 4 time Congress MP Avtar Singh Bhadana joins Jayant Chaudhary-led RLD

Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) chief Jayant Chaudhary announced that Congress leader Avtar Singh Bhadana has joined the RLD.

New Delhi: The Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) chief Jayant Chaudhary announced that Congress leader Avtar Singh Bhadana has joined the RLD. He shared the announcement on his Twitter account and also uploaded three photos with the leader while doing a discussion on Wednesday.

”Ex MP& senior Shri Avtar Singh Bhadana ji joined RLD today!,” wrote Jayant Singh on Twitter. The post was also re-tweeted by Bhadana.

Who is Avtar Singh Bhadana?

Bhadana is a four-time Lok Sabha MP from Haryana’s Faridabad. He last won the constituency in 2009. However, he joined the Congress party’s Haryana unit over three decades ago. He first became a minister in the state cabinet in 1988, according to the media reports.

Opportunities to Bhadana in RJD

Considering Avtar Singh Bhadana’s long political career, the RLD has decided to give him a ticket to fight the election in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly election. Bhadana will get an opportunity to fight the election from the Jewar assembly constituency. It comes under the UP’s Gautam Buddh Nagar district.

Jewar is home to 3.46 lakh voters. Currently, the constituency is being represented by Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) leader Dhirendra Singh. As per the new election schedule announced by the Election Commission of India, Jewar will go into a poll on February 10. The results are scheduled to come on March 10.
