UP fights COVID-19 2nd wave: Tremendous increase in corona testings, drastic decrease in fresh cases

The state, under the leadership of CM Yogi, has made a record by increasing the number of COVID-19 testing in the last ten days.

New Delhi: Where the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic is bringing an exponential surge in the cases across India, Uttar Pradesh on the other hand recorded only 29,192 positive cases out of 2,29,440 tests performed on May 1.

CM Yogi Sparing No Efforts To Fast Track Testing And Treatment

A vigorous regime of ‘trace, test, treat’, has shown remarkable results in controlling the spread and mortality of the novel coronavirus, without putting a statewide lockdown in place.

This ‘testing mantra’ of the Yogi Government has been found fruitful as it has reduced the rate of corona infection. Lauding CM Yogi, Principal Secretary, Medical Education, Alok Kumar, said, “Test, track, and treat remain the pillar of covid management. With around 1.30 lakhs RT-PCR test, the Yogi Government is making all efforts to fast track testing and treatment.”

While undertaking a review of the current COVID-19 situation across the state, CM Yogi also asked the senior officials to be extra vigilant in the high-burden areas and track the whereabouts of the positive patients, and conducted tests on a massive scale.
