New Delhi: The 3-day Global Investors Summit will kick off in Lucknow from Friday, with top industrialists & business tycoons from across the country & world participating in the conference.
Yogi government has ambitious plans of attracting large-scale investment in various sectors including sports. State government has already laid out its plans & vision to develop the state as a major sports hub of the country.
The Global Investors Summit will have 34 sessions spread over 3 days, where industry leaders, academia, think-tanks and leaders from across the world will explore business opportunities & discuss possibilities of forging partnerships in various sectors.
The state’s sports department has planned a session titled – Harnessing Opportunities in the Sports Sector in Uttar Pradesh, on February 12 where officials will brief the dignitaries about fast expanding sports opportunities in the state and how it can attain next level of growth with more investment.
“The session will witness a fruitful interaction among all the stakeholders in the sports sector. It will also provide a detailed overview of the department’s policy as well as present it as an investment and engagement opportunity to investors and industry,” said the government in statement.
Uttar Pradesh is slowly but steadily emerging as next major destination for mega sporting events in the country. This year alone, it is set to host Khelo India University Games 2023 and MotoGP. Also, the state govt has adopted wrestling & badminton.
Olympian Abhinav to address sports session
While the GIS gets underway, all eyes will be on Olympic medalist Abhinav Bindra when he addresses the Sports investment session.
Among other big names to speak at the session include Suresh Raina, Dwight Howard, NBA athlete, Nasser Hussain, CEO, Rugby India, Carlos Ezpeleta, chief strategy officer, Dorna (MotoGP), Udit Sheth, founder, Trans Stadia.
