UP govt announces state-wide weekend lockdown, night curfew in all districts

Briefing mediapersons, Additional Chief Secy Awanish K Awasthi said, “Weekend lockdown to be imposed in UP on Saturdays & Sundays. Lockdown will come into effect on Friday 8 pm & continue till Monday 7 am. Only essential services will be allowed. Night curfew will remain imposed in all districts.”

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday announced weekend lockdown across the state contain the rising number of Covid-19 cases in the state. The weekend lockdown will come into force from April 24.

As per new directive, night curfew will remain in force in all districts, effective between 8 PM to 7 AM every day.

CM Yogi has appealed to people to contribute in fight against Corona crisis. People must avoid going outside without any work and must follow Covid protocol at all times like wearing mask and ensuring social distancing.
