Uttarakhand Assembly Election Results 2022: Winners, Losers and Vote percentage

Apart from the two traditional rivals, no other political parties contesting the polls could not manage to secure a single seat in 2017

New Delhi: Not just Uttar Pradesh, the hilly state of Uttarakhand scripted history on March 10 by re-electing the incumbent government to power for second consecutive term. Trashing speculations of BJP debacle in Devbhoomi, the party managed to get a huge mandate by amassing more than 45 seats in the 70-member Assembly.

With a vote share of 44.33 percent, the party suffered a drop of 2% in vote share as compared to 2017 Assembly elections but romped back to power with almost two-third majority.

The saffron party had secured 46.51% vote share in the 2017 Assembly election. Last election, its victory was even bigger with party bagging 57 seats in the 70-member Assembly. Anti-incumbency did work this year but it costed the party just 10 seats. On the other hand, the divided house of Congress did no good in countering the BJP election machinery.
