New Delhi: Post inaugurating the much-awaited 5G services in 13 major Indian cities at the India Mobile Congress 2022 event in Pragati Maidan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi headed to Reliance’s Jio pavilion to witness the ‘True 5G’ devices.
Modi was accompanied by Reliance Industries Limited Chairman Mukesh Ambani, Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, and Minister of State for Communications, Devusinh Chauhan.
On reaching to the Jio pavilion, Mukesh Ambani’s elder son Akash, who recently took over as the Chairman of Reliance industries’ digital wing and Jio Infocomm’s board, personally demonstrated to him the use of various devices and services.
PM Modi was seen trying ‘True 5G’ devices as well as ‘Jio Glass’ with Akash Ambani assisting him.
Jio said in a statement regarding the prime minister, “He also spent time understanding the indigenous development of end-to-end 5G technology by a team of young Jio engineers, and how 5G can help bridge the gap between urban and rural healthcare delivery”.

After the inauguration, PM Modi took a tour of the exhibition to get a first-hand experience on 5G services and went around different pavilions set up by participating telecom operators and technology providers.
Apart from visiting Jio pavilion, prime minister also checked out stalls of Vodafone Idea, Airtel, C-DOT, and others.The 5G services will be available in 13 Indian cities after Diwali.
