In the video, the bride is seen shooting 4 rounds of fire up in the air 4 times. After that, she hands back the gun to a man who stands behind her

New Delhi: In a shocking case, a UP bride fired four rounds from a revolver, as she sat beside her groom after the ceremony of Jaimala.

After the video of the act took over various social media, Hathras Police was swung into action.

The wedding was taking place in Salempur Village in the Hathras Junction area on Friday.

In the video, the bride is seen shooting 4 rounds of fire up in the air 4 times. After that, she hands back the gun to a man who stands behind her. Meanwhile, a nervous-looking groom sits still right beside her.

Take a look at the viral video:

According to the reports, the celebratory firing was done by the bride right after exchanging garlands with the groom.

The duo reportedly sought blessings after the Jaimala ceremony from their relatives and sat together on the stage. That’s when a man, who was kin of the bride, got up to the stage and provided the bride with a revolver.

The bride fired 4 shots in a matter of seconds before giving the gun back to the man.

As the video garnered attention on social media, Hathras Police began a lookout action for the bride and others involved.

Hathras Additional Superintendent of Police stated that while the case has been logged, the police are looking for the man who handed over the revolver to the bride.

Reportedly, the accused bride is absconding and her family members are being interrogated.

After the 2019 amendment to the Arms Act, a police case is to be filed in cases of celebratory firing even if it doesn’t lead to any injuries on death. Celebratory firing is punishable by a sentence of up to 2 years, a 1 Lakh rupees fine, or both.
