‘We are slaves of Gandhi family,’ Rajasthan MLA’s shocking admission in Assembly (VIDEO)

However, both parties had a separate discussion on the matter with the Speaker and the issue was postponed till tomorrow.

New Delhi: Sanyam Lodha, Rajasthan MLA & CM Ashok Gehlot’s advisor, on Tuesday made a startling admission in the House, leading to flutter in state’s political circles.

While the Assembly session was underway, the Congress legislator said on record that we are slaves of Gandhi’s family and will continue to stay so.

Sanyam Lodha made the remarks while replying to stinging remarks by the opposition benches. While the House was debating Media & Communication University reform bill, a BJP legislator hurled a stinging jibe and said that these people are slaves of the Nehru-Gandhi family.

Angered at jibe, Congress MLA Sanyam Lodha said, “Yes, we are slaves of Nehru Gandhi family. And, will continue to remain slaves till our last breath because it was they who laid the foundation for this country.”

The shocking admission by Congress legislator triggered uproar in the House and opposition benches started cornering the Gehlot aide.

Rajendra Rathore, leader of Opposition in the House, upped the ante and taunted the Congress party for ‘bringing in a new culture of slavery in the country.

“Congratulations to you for ushering in a new culture of servitude. This is what you have done to the country. Slaves can’t raise their voice, can’t show the right path,” BJP MLA said.

The exchange of jibes between treasury & opposition benches led to chaos in the Assembly. As both sides raised hue & cry over ‘trading of barbs’, the Speaker tried to intervene and settle the matter peacefully.

The House also saw pandemonium over demolition of the Ram Darbar idol in the Salasar Balaji Marg. However, both parties had a separate discussion on the matter with the Speaker and the issue was postponed till tomorrow.

Rajasthan has been garnering the spotlight for some days apparently due to controversial decisions of the state govt. It imposed Section 144 in the Kota district recently on the pretext that The Kashmir Files film will create unrest in the society.
