Who is Mansukh Mandaviya? Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare

New Delhi: Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya is trending on social media today after he has written a letter to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot asking to follow the COVID-19 guidelines strictly during the party’s Bharat Jodo Yatra.

In his letter, he asked the Congress party to follow COVID guidelines strictly during Bharat Jodo Yatra which is currently underway in Rajasthan.

He also asked to implement the use of masks-sanitizer and only vaccinated people should participate in the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

He further said that if this protocol cannot be followed then this should be postponed.

Who is Mansukh Mandaviya?

Mansukh Laxmanbhai Mandaviya also known as Mansukh Mandaviya is the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare. From Gujarat, Mansukh Mandaviya is also a Rajya Sabha member. On July 7th, he assumed the health ministry office preceding Dr. Harsh Vardhan, after a Cabinet reshuffle in Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government.
Before he became Union Health Minister, he was the  Minister of State for Shipping and Minister of State for Chemical and Fertilizers since 2019.
Talking about his political career, he started it in 2002 when he fought the Palitana Constituency and became the youngest MLA in Gujarat.

In 2015, he was appointed as General Secretary of BJP and was selected to represent India at the United Nations to talk about sustainable development.
In the year 2016, he was sworn in as a Minister of State for Road Transport & Highways, Shipping, and Chemical & Fertilizers.

The UNICEF also honoured him for his contribution to women’s healthcare initiatives and for distributing 100 million sanitary napkins through Jan Aushadhi stores.
