New Delhi: A 35-year-old Delhi guy has been lately making headlines for physically attacking an IndiGo Airlines pilot after getting frustrated over the back-to-back flight delays on Sunday. A video of his assault is also doing rounds on the internet, drawing mixed reactions from the netizens.

In the viral video, the accused, identified as Sahil Kataria, can be seen angrily charging at the Co-pilot of the plane Anup Kumar, who was telling the passengers about yet another delay in the flight’s takeoff, and slapping him hard following which the airline staff restrained him and kicked him out of the plane.
After that, Sahil was apprehended by the CISF, which is in charge of managing the security of the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport and later was handed over to the Delhi Police.
Sahil’s act of violence against the Indigo pilot has not just ignited a huge uproar on social media but has also made the netizens curious about him & the reason that made him take such a drastic step of slapping the captian of Indigo Airlines. Here’s everything that we know about him so far.
Who is Sahil Kataria?
Sahil Kataria is a resident of Delhi who boarded the IndiGo flight with his wife to reach Goa and enjoy his honeymoon vacation. However, when his flight kept on getting delayed back to back for 13 good hours due to fog & other reasons, the middle-aged man lost his temper and smacked the face of Co-polit who was announcing the unpleasant news of some more delay in the takeoff of the plane.
Speaking of Sahil’s personal life, he lives with his family in the East of Kailash and runs a shop of stationary & toys shops situated in Amar Colony, west Delhi.
Why did Sahil Slap the pilot?
While the CISF Officials & Plane crew were dragging him out of the airplane, Sahil was heard saying sorry to the pilot for slapping him. However, his apology went in vain as the pilot refused to accept it and lodged a formal complaint against him. Delhi police has also registered an FIR against him under various relevant sections of the IPC 1860 including
Meanwhile, Sahil Kataria’s wife also apologized to the cabin crew & CISF officials for her husband’s outrageous behavior, claiming that he hit the co-pilot as he was disheartened and enraged due to repeated delays in the flight’s take-off time. Kataria is currently out on bail and will be presented in front of the magistrate’s court within a few days.
