Who is Vijaya Gadde, Twitter’s legal policy head sacked after Elon Musk’s take over, and her role in banning Trump?

New Delhi: After acquiring the social media platform, Elon Musk sacked three top employees of Twitter — Chief Executive Parag Agrawal, Chief Financial Officer Ned Segal, and Vijay Gadde as legal head. Among the three persons, Vijay Gadde is associated with two controversies. Gadde is said to be playing an instrumental role in suspending the Twitter account of former American President Donald Trump in 2021.

In India, Gadde invited controversies after she was captured in pictures posing with Twitter founder Jack Dorsey holding a poster read: ”Smash Brahmanical Patriarchy”.

In the photo, she could also be spotted standing next to Barkha Dutt and other women journalists who are famous for being critics of the right-wing ecosystem.

 Who is Vijay Gadde?

Vijay Gadde was born in India to a Telugu family in the year 1974. She came to the United States at the age of three with her father who wanted to continue his higher studies. But, Vijay had to return to her home nation since her father could not afford the cost to keep the family in the US.

She completed her bachelor’s degree of science in industrial and labour relations from the Cornel University School of Industrial and Labor Relations.

After completing her bachelor’s degree, she went to the New York University School of Law to compete juris doctor.

As an American attorney, she was hired by Twitter to bestow her service as a policy, and safety lead director and a chief legal officer and general counsel.
