Yogi Adityanath transfers Rs 87 crore into account of CM Housing Scheme beneficiaries

In another initiative to help the poor, UP CM Yogi Adityanath is set to hand over flats of 415 square feet area to at least 1,040 poor urban people for just Rs 4.75 lakh.

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday transferred Rs 87 crore into the account of beneficiaries of CM Housing Scheme. This came as the first instalment of the amount, which is to be transferred into accounts of the 21,562 beneficiaries of the Chief Minister Housing Scheme (Rural) on this occasion.

On the occasion, CM Yogi also called for launching a campaign to ensure that benefits of all govt schemes reach to the beneficiaries of PM and CM housing schemes.

Speaking at a virtual programme held at his official residence, CM Yogi said that a campaign should be launched to saturate all the beneficiaries of Prime Minister and Chief Minister housing schemes with the benefits of government schemes like Aushman Bharat, Jeewan Jyoti, Jivan Jyoti, etc.

The total cost of the flat will be Rs 12.59 lakh and out of this, Rs 7.83 lakh will be given as a grant from the Central and the state government.

The remaining Rs 4.76 lakh will be paid by the beneficiaries of the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category.

According to a government spokesman, the allotment of the flats will be done as per Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) and through District Urban Development Authority (DUDA), and an open lottery will be conducted under the chairmanship of the district magistrate.
