Yogi govt committed to ‘Apna Ghar’ dream, Uttar Pradesh tops PMAY(U) award list

During the launch of Light House Project, PM Modi announced PM Awas Yojana (Urban) Award 2019. Uttar Pradesh was awarded first prize for best implementation of the scheme.

New Delhi: State government is constantly striving towards realisation of ‘Apna Ghar’ dream and seeks to deliver the same for every needy family, UP CM Yogi Adityanath said on Friday.

Chief Minister said this during the foundation laying ceremony of latest technology based ‘Light House Project’ by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Under this scheme, low cost houses will be built and delivered to those belonging to people from Economic Weaker Sections (EWS) and both Centre and State governments will give subsidy on these flats.

CM Yogi was present at the foundation stone laying program of ‘Light House Project’ for the urban poor under the Awadh Vihar Yojana in Lucknow under the Prime Minister’s Urban Housing Scheme.

The Chief Minister said that so far the dream of ‘Apna Ghar’ of 17.58 families has been realised in the state, out of which about 10.58 lakh houses are under construction, while rest have been completed. This sequence will continue.

UP gets first prize in PM Awaas Yojana

During the launch of Light House Project, PM Modi announced PM Awas Yojana (Urban) Award 2019. Uttar Pradesh was awarded first prize for best implementation of the scheme. Not only this, the Mirzapur municipality of Uttar Pradesh was also awarded the best municipality in the country.

Besides, Malihabad in Lucknow district has been adjudged as the best Nagar Panchayat.  In the country while another UP Nagar Panchayat Hariharpur ranks third.

New technology based houses in 6 states

Uttar Pradesh has been selected as a model at the national level for LHP. Under this, the Light House Project (LHP) is to be constructed in Awadh Bihar scheme of capital Lucknow.

The ‘Stay in Place Form Work’ technique has been used in the construction of these buildings. These buildings will be more durable, environment friendly and disaster resistant. Under the plan, buildings are proposed to be constructed for 1040 people in UP. The carpet area of each residence will be 34.5 square meters and will cost just Rs 4.76 lakh. It will be completed in a year.

Apart from Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), LHP is being constructed in Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Rajkot (Gujarat), Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Ranchi (Jharkhand) and Agartala (Tripura). It covers about 1,000 houses with associated infrastructure facilities at each location.
