Yogi govt set for 2nd term, cakewalk victory for BJP as SP & BSP offer no challenge: Poll Survey

As per survey, BJP is expected to return to power for the second consecutive term with a massive mandate, much like previous elections. The poll survey projects BJP to win 2/3rd majority in the elections i.e. a whopping 289 seats in the 403 member assembly.

New Delhi: As Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government completes 4 year in power on March 19, a poll survey has added fireworks in the week-long celebrations, by forecasting its victory in the next assembly elections, scheduled for 2022.

Giving a strong thumbs-up to Yogi government, the ABP-CVoter poll survey has predicted 2nd consecutive BJP government in the state with thumping majority, if the elections are held today. Interestingly, BJP never retained power in the state for 4 years. Yogi Adityanath has become the 1st BJP CM to have completed four years in power.

As per survey, BJP is expected to return to power for the second consecutive term with a massive mandate, much like previous elections. The poll survey projects BJP to win 2/3rd majority in the elections i.e. a whopping 289 seats in the 403 member assembly. The numbers are little less as compared to 2017 Assembly elections, as the saffron party won 325 seats then.

‘Listless’ SP & BSP give no fight to Yogi govt

Despite the dip, the 2022 elections look like a cakewalk for the BJP as the challengers in poll fray, Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) look listless and giving no fight to the formidable party.

ABP-CVoter conducted a survey to gauge the mood of electorate in Uttar Pradesh, which is slated to got to polls in 2022.

In the survey, opposition parties including Samajwadi Party (SP), Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Congress appear to be struggling to garner numbers. In the Survey’s March 2021 data, SP is likely to get 59 seats (+12) in case elections in Uttar Pradesh happen today, while BSP and Congress may get 38 seats (+19), 9 seats (-3) respectively.

41% vote share for BJP; SP-BSP at distant 2nd & 3rd spot

Even after 4 years, the popularity of Yogi Adityanath government remains intact as the survey shows the saffron party garnering no less than 41% vote share, if the elections are held now.

In 2017 Assembly elections, BJP secured 41.4% vote share. There may be a slight dent in BJP’s vote share this time, but is much ahead of its rivals.

SP and BSP are predicted to garner 24.4% and 20.8% vote share while Congress is seen getting 5.9% of the electorate. Assembly Elections for the 403-member Assembly in Uttar Pradesh will be held in month of February to October 2022.
