Yogi govt tackles Corona crisis: Record 3.58 lakh Covid tests in 24 hours, recovery rate exceeds 95%

Only 3,371 new cases were recorded in the last 24 hours, the lowest figure so far and the number of recoveries was 10,540 which is over seven thousand more than the fresh covid cases.

New Delhi: For the first time since mid-April, amid the second wave of the pandemic in the state, the number of active cases have shown a sharp decline by coming down to just 20 percent from its peak on April 30.

The Active Covid cases in the densely populated state of 240 million now remain only 20 percent since its peak which was capped on April 30. The figure has shown a remarkable reduction by falling to just 62,271 on Tuesday from a high of 3,10,783 last month.

With this robust sign, the state’s recovery rate has surpassed 95 percent testifying the success of the ‘Yogi Model’ in taming the raging disease that has also been acknowledged and praised by experts nationally and globally.

The daily Covid positivity rate — the number of positive cases against the total tests done — on Tuesday dipped below 1 percent in Uttar Pradesh again for the first time since the middle of last month, according to the official data.

This rate was at its highest at 16.84 percent on April 24 during the second wave of the pandemic, which has now come down to a low of 0.93 percent.

Active Covid cases down to 20% from peak on April 30

Flattening the curve, the state for the twenty fifth consecutive day recorded more daily recoveries than the number of fresh cases — in the same span of time.
