DGCA declared a trans pilot boy unfit after a hormonal surgery

New Delhi: Some people are assigned the body of a male or female at birth but later on they find that they are in the wrong body and so these people go for hormonal surgeries. Even after so much awareness and debates, there is a stigma which continues.

Society still does not accept trans genders. How many times you have heard that a person was discriminated against because of his/her gender. These cases have become very frequent and recent news from Kerala is in highlight.

The 23-year-old pilot Adam Harry had to put his dream to fly an aircraft on hold and according to reports he is now forced to work as a food delivery executive for Zomato

after Director General Civil Aviation (DGCA) denied him from flying, declaring him unfit after he went for hormonal surgery.

Adam came in news for the first time in 2019. He received a license in South Africa. In 2000 Harry enrolled at Rajiv Gandhi Aviation in Thiruvananthapuram.

After a detailed evaluation, DGCA declared him unfit, however, sharing the post on Instagram Adam Harry calls DGCA transphobic and also said that this is discrimination of rights. Further adding to the statement, he said that media portals are misleading by putting titles such as “we first trans pilot and he’s now delivery boy”. Harry concluded the statement with this remark “all occupations are equal and this is the battle of title. ”
