Musk has said that he wanted to buy Twitter because he thinks it’s not performing up to its potential as a platform for “free speech”

New Delhi: In the biggest ever tech deal in the world, billionaire Elon Musk has finally acquired Twitter for $44 billion, after some initial speculations.

The move certainly did not come to the social media users as a shock, since the self-proclaimed ‘free-speech absolutist’ had recently acquired a 9.2% stake in the microblogging site, resulting in him becoming the single largest shareholder in Twitter.

Musk had even conducted a poll seeking suggestions from users on the need for an edit button on the platform. Around 70 percent of individuals who participated in the polls said yes to having the new feature.

Post buying the most popular microblogging site, Musk wrote in a tweet, “I hope that even my worst critics remain on Twitter, because that is what free speech means”.

Now since Twitter has been finally acquired by the founder-CEO of Tesla, Twitteratis can’t keep calm and are flooding the site with hilarious jokes and memes about Twitter’s recent takeover by Musk.
