New Delhi: On the occasion of Ravidas Jayanti, Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered prayers at Shri Guru Ravidas Vishram Dham Mandir in Delhi’s Karol Bagh on Wednesday.
Dalit icon Sant Ravidas, who belonged to the bhakti movement during the 15th to 16th century, is considered to be the founder of the ‘Ravidassia Panth’.
What caught the attention of social media users on the special occasion was that PM Modi not only interacted with the devotees in the temple, but also participated in the ‘Shabad Kirtan’ among them.
The video of PM Modi sitting on the floor while chanting and playing manjira among the other devotees in the ‘Shabad Kirtan’ is going viral on social media.
