Toddler ‘accidentally’ purchases furniture worth Rs 1.4 lakh online, here’s what happened

Madhu and her husband came to know about the massive online purchase when box after box of new furniture started arriving to their address

New Delhi: Remember how it is advised to keep your mobile phones and other gadgets out of the reach of children? Well, the suggestions are not just made to protect your devices or children, but sometimes, also to save you from irreversible circumstances.

An incident reported from New Jersey is an example as to why you should always keep your phones and other devices, especially the internet-enabled ones, locked and away from the kids.

A 22-months-old toddler named Ayaansh Kumar, still in diapers, has somehow managed to order furniture worth $2,000 (Rs 1.4 lakh) from an e-commercial store.

Clearly he wasn’t asked to do the purchase by his parents and the ‘accidental’ online buying came after Ayaansh found her mother Madhu’s unlocked smartphone.

The toddler fortuitously purchased her mother’s entire shopping cart on Walmart’s website, though Madhu had only intended to buy a few things for her new home.

Some of the package boxes were so big that they won’t fit through the door. When Madhu checked her Walmart account, she found out her son had ordered chairs, flower stands, and a lot many stuff they didn’t even need.

“He’s so little, he’s so cute, we were laughing that he ordered all this stuff,” said Madhu.

“It is really hard to believe that he has done this, but that’s what happened,” said Pramod Kumar, the father of Ayaansh.

“Moving forward, we will put tough passcodes or face recognition so when he picks up the phone he finds it in a locked condition,” father Pramod was quoted as saying by NBC.
