Watch: Groom thrashed by bride’s family and guests for demanding extra dowry (Video)

New Delhi: The wedding season for this year has come to an end. Bidding goodbye, the season has given several videos and photos from the weddings taking place all across the globe. Some videos and photos became viral as well, ranging from happy moments to absurd ones. However, one such video has gone viral in recent times.

The now-viral video shows the groom being thrashed at his wedding that took place on Friday at a banquet hall in the Sahibabad area of Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad. Reportedly, the man was beaten up for demanding an extra hefty amount as dowry from the bride’s family.

Reportedly, just before the Nikah ceremony, the groom’s father demanded Rs 10 lakh as dowry and threatened to call off the wedding if the demand was not met.

As the matter proceeded, the groom was seen beaten up by the bride’s relative and the guests. A woman, who was his relative, was protecting him from the agitated people. Also, a policeman was present there who tried controlling the situation.

As per the reports, the bride’s family has already given Rs 3 lakh cash and one diamond ring worth Rs 1 lakh. The bride’s family tried persuading the family of the groom, however, the latter was not convinced and satisfied. This agitated the bride’s family and the guests following which they thrashed the groom. Besides, the people from the bride’s side also claimed that the man married 2-3 times before.
