New Delhi: India can now project animals from covid19 infection. Haryana’s ICAR-National Research Centre on Equines has developed ‘Anocovax’ . The Anocovax vaccine will provide protection against both Delta and Omicron variants of the covid19 infection, the institute said as agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar launched Anocovax.
Anocovax is country’s first indigenously vaccine developed for providing protection against Covid-19 vaccine for animals. The institute has also launched antibody detection kits for animals.

# According to the institution, the Anocovax vaccine is said to be safe for animals like dogs, lions, leopards, mice and rabbits.
# The vaccine is said to be the inactivated SARS-Cov-2 Delta (Covid-19) vaccine. The vaccine also also contains Alhydrogel as an adjuvant.
# It is said that the Anocovox vaccine is effective against both Delta and Omicron variants.
# A kit has also been developed to detect the antibody in animals against SARS-CoV-2.
# The antibody detection kit is made in India, also a patent is filed.
According to the initial studies, said that it was unsure about whether animals, especially pets, contract Covid19 infection or not.
But it was revealed that pets can contract Covid from their owners through close contact, said Studies.
