New Delhi: Citing the intervention from a third party, FIFA has suspended the All India Football Federation (AIFF) with immediate effect. The international governing body wants AIFF to regain its full control and run the sport in the country. The suspension will be lifted once an order to set up a committee of administrators to assume the powers of the AIFF Executive Committee has been repealed and the AIFF administration regains full control of its daily affairs.
Indian football fans are upset as the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2022, which was scheduled to take place in India on 11-30 October 2022, will not be held in the country. Football fans are taking on social media to express their views on the matter. People are not happy with the steps taken by the Indian federation and the fact that the suspension order came when India was celebrating 75 years of Independence, made it even worse.
A greed of one man cost us this.
Never Forget,Never Forgive.

After the suspension by FIFA it’s now clear that Gokulam Kerala women’s can not participate in AFC Women’s club championship.
The girls were already there in Uzbekistan.
Feeling sad for them. They don’t deserve this. ☹️#FIFABAN #IndianFootball pic.twitter.com/HO7WiZprmG

I feel devastated for @GokulamKeralaFC women’s team. Imagine spending months upon months preparing for the AFC Women’s Club Championship. Rarest of rare opportunities for an Indian club at the continental level. And it gets taken away from you like this. #indianfootball #FIFABan

Baljit Singh Rihal pointed out an impact on the careers of footballers in India.
An international player transfer suspension will also be in place due to the #FIFABan. Although the majority of Indian Super League & ILeague teams have registered players (via TMS), those that were waiting for end of transfer window bargains will no doubt suffer. ⚽️?? (1/2)
