Asia Cup 2022: Virat Kohli takes on Ashwin, Jadeja, Chahal in nets while Arshdeep bowls well (VIDEO)

He has been seen struggling against the leg spin, but he looked in good shape against Chahal and also took on Jadeja.

New Delhi: When all eyes are on India’s star batter Virat Kohli, a video of him taking on the bowlers in the nets is out on the internet. He was seen hitting big against the Indian spinners as the stand-in coach VVS Laxman watched and helped the players to level up their game. Kohli was joined by Ravichandran Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravindra Jadeja and Arshdeep Singh in the nets.

Kohli was beaten on the first ball by Ravichandran Ashwin, but then he decided to hit big. He has been seen struggling against the leg spin, but he looked in good shape against Chahal and also took on Jadeja. After successfully attempting sweep shot, he also tried reverse paddle and switch hit, which did not land as perfectly as he would have wished them to. Arshdeep Singh challenged him with a short ball which Kohli ducked and answered with some praise for Arshdeep. It was a good challenge for both of them as at times Arshdeep bowled well outside off-stump and at times Kohli showed his class.

After Kohli, it was captain Rohit’s turn, who did not go for big shots immediately but tried to shed off his rust. Meanwhile, Kohli did some sprints and sat with Paddy Upton, India’s mental health coach. The session was followed up by Suryakumar Yadav taking on Indian bowlers in his 360-degree style and Dinesh Karthik practising against Arshdeep, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hardik Pandya and Jadeja.

KL Rahul, Avesh Khan and Deepak Hooda were, reportedly, given rest after their tour to Zimbabwe, while Rishabh Pant did not train. India also has Harpreet Brar and Siddhant Sharma as the net bowlers.
