Asian Para Games 2023: India continues their form add multiple medals on day 2

India won 6 gold, 6 silver and 5 bronze medals on day 1 and finished the day at the 4th spot in the overall medals tally.

New Delhi: The Indian contingent continued their momentum from day 1 of the Asian Para Games in Hangzhou, China, where they won 17 medals, including 6 gold medals, on the day and added more medals to their tally and are on their way to breaking the 72 medals record which they set in 2018 Asian Para Games in Jakarta, Indonesia.

India won 6 gold, 6 silver and 5 bronze medals on day 1 and finished the day at the 4th spot in the overall medals tally.

India finished in the 9th position in the 3rd edition of the Asian Para Games and will be looking to better their record at the 4th edition of the tournament in 2023.

India already broke their medal record at the Asian Games 2023, which was also held in Hangzhou, China, by crossing the 100-medals mark for the first time in their Asian Games history. They finished their campaign with 107 wickets, Including 28 gold medals. India broke their 70 medals record, including 16 gold medals set in the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games.

Canoeing opens the account for India on day 2

India’s Manish Kaurav won India’s first medal on the day of the 4th edition of the Asian Para Games as he secured the bronze medal in the men’s canoeing KL-3 category.

India’s Prachi Yadav won India’s first gold medal of day 2 after she finished the first position in the women’s canoeing KL-2 category.

Indian sprinter won India’s first silver medal of the day by finishing second in the women’s 100m T-12 category.

Indian sprinter Deepthi Jeevanji set a new Asian Para and Games record of 56.69 sec in the women’s 400m T-20 event, winning the eighth gold medal for India.

India continues to get good news from canoeing as they won another bronze, thanks to Gajendra Singh finishing third in the men’s canoeing VL-2 category.
