New Delhi: The All-India Senior Selection Committee has announced the India A squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against New Zealand A to be played in Chennai. After the first two Test matches ended in a draw and while the third match is going on, the selection committee has named Sanju Samson as the captain of India A’s white-ball side.
New Zealand A is currently on a tour to India for a three-match Test series and three ODIs. The games have become a testing ground for youngsters who have performed well in the domestic circuit. Mukesh Kumar has been doing great with the ball and Abhimanyu Easwaran, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rajat Patidar have made a strong case for themselves by scoring centuries.
While Samson leads the side, the squad has some big names like Prithvi Shaw, Kuldeep Yadav, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Rahul Tripathi among others. It is a good opportunity for youngsters to knock on the doors of the senior side while Shaw, Samson and Kuldeep will be looking to make a strong case for their comeback.
Meanwhile, the New Zealand side will be led by Tom Bruce and has in form Joe Carter and experienced Rachin Ravindra.
