Cameron Green gets the green signal ahead of the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25

Australia’s no.1 all-rounder in red ball, Cameron Green has been declared fit partially for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25.

New Delhi: Australia’s no.1 all-rounder in red ball, Cameron Green has been declared fit partially for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25. Earlier, Green suffered an injury during the third ODI of the five-match series against England last month. However, the medical team has worked meticulously with Green to restore the Australian all-rounder to his full potential.

Although Cricket Australia is set to formally announce the nature of Green’s back injury later this week. But, according to three sources, planning has already commenced to work around Green’s likely inability to bowl until the Test summer is well advanced.

Green has been rested and given immense time to recover because he might turn out to be the trump card against India. Talking about Green’s injury, team doctor Peter Brukner said-

The load comes mainly from bowling—batting and fielding don’t put a huge load on that part of the body, so it’s feasible that once the pain settles down you can bat and field without too many problems and feel fine….

While Green’s inclusion makes the Australian team a strong contender team in the upcoming BGT series, India is not a mere pushover in the series. Interestingly, the Australian all-rounder was part of Australia’s 2023 WTC final-winning team. Talking about the red ball career of Green, he has played 28 Tests so far in which he has scored 1377 runs and picked up 35 wickets.
