Dhiraj Bommadevara and Ankita Bhakat qualify for the quarterfinal of the Mixed Team event at Paris Olympics 2024

New Delhi: Dhiraj Bommadevara and Ankita Bhakat qualified for the Quarterfinals of the Mixed Team archery event at the Paris Olympics 2024. Ankita and Dhiraj will now face either Spain or China who are currently battling it out in the second pre-quarters match.

The Indian duo did not waste any time as they looked confident against the Indonesian duo and were looking ambitious to claim the bronze medal. Ankita in particular was looking in sublime form and displayed exemplary calm in such a tough knockout situation.

What happened in the match?

Dhiraj and Ankita started the game in style as they won the first set 37 (9,10,9,9) – 36 (9,10,8,9) taking a 2-0 lead. In the second set, both sides shared points at 38-38 (IND- 9, 10, 10, 9; INA- 10, 9, 9, 10) to give the Indian duo a 3-1 lead in the tie.

Going into the third set, the Indian team managed to win the decisive set in the third set 38 (10, 9, 10, 9) – 37 (9, 9, 10, 9) to qualify for the quarterfinals of the Mixed Team event. The Quarterfinal of the Mixed Team archery event is scheduled to take place at 5:45 PM later today.
