Dhiraj Bommadevara/Ankita Bhakat qualify for the semifinals of the Mixed Team event at Paris Olympics 2024

New Delhi: Dhiraj Bommadevara and Ankita Bhakat displayed exemplary shooting skills to win the quarterfinals against the Spanish duo of Pablo Acha and Elia Canales to advance to the semifinals of the mixed team archery.

This is the first time the archery team has managed to reach the semifinal stage of an archery event. India won the match in the end by 5-3 in a game which lasted till the last set. The India duo now have a very tough draw ahead of them as they take on the South Korean duo of Kim Woo-jin and Lim Si-Hyeon.

Lim is coming into the match having won the gold medal with the women’s team. Kim on the other hand, is a well-known name in the archery circles after winning 3 back-to-back gold medals in the Olympics with the men’s team (Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024), the 32-year-old archer will look to increase the gold medal prospects once again.
