New Delhi: Although the former Indian skipper as well as wicketkeeper-batsman, MS Dhoni has retired from international cricket, he has been an active part of the four-times winning Indian Premier League’s (IPL) Chennai Super Kings. In terms of his personal life, he is celebrating his 12 years of togetherness with his wife Sakshi on July 4, marking their wedding anniversary. The couple tied the knot in 2010 and was blessed with a daughter named Ziva.

Though Sakshi and Dhoni studied in the same school in childhood in Rachi, the former moved to Dehradun with her family. After ten years, the couple met again when Sakshi was interning at Taj Bengal, Kolkata and Dhoni was on his Team India duty.
Initially, Sakshi ignored Dhoni, but after several requests from the latter, she accepted her proposal. The couple started dating in 2008 and tied the knot in 2010 in Dehradun. The couple’s engagement and marriage happened in a day and the occasion was attended by both their friends and family, Dhoni’s teammates, politicians, and celebrities.
After five years of marriage, the couple was blessed with a daughter, Ziva. She was born when Dhoni was leading the India team in Australia during the ICC World Cup, where the team was ousted in the semis and the cup was lifted by Australia.
Their love story was beautifully portrayed in the movie M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story where the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput played the role of Dhoni and Kiara Advani essayed the role of Sakshi.
