Durand Cup: Video of West Bengal Governor pushing Sunil Chhetri for a photo opportunity goes viral

New Delhi: Sunil Chhetri’s Bengaluru FC on Sunday defeated Mumbai City FC 2-1 to win the Durand Cup Football Tournament at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata.

However, what happened next is grabbing headlines. Videos of a few unpleasant moments from the post-match presentation have gone viral on social media rather than the interesting football game.

In the first video which is doing rounds on social media shows West Bengal Governor La Ganesan pushing Sunil Chhetri for a photo opportunity during the post-match presentation ceremony.

While in the second video, Sivasakthi Narayanan was also pushed aside during the ceremony by another guest. Sivasakthi had opened the scoring in the final match.

These video makes it clear that guests who were called to present the trophies were more interested in being noticeable than the sportsmen in the frame.

After the video has gone viral on social media, several football as well as non-football fans have reacted over the shocking gesture.

Some social  media users also termed it as “very disgraceful.”

Sunil Chhetri and this team gained victory with  2-1 on Sunday.
