New Delhi: Bronze Medal winner at 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Boxer Lovlina Borgohain levelled allegations of harassment against the authorities ahead of the Commonwealth Games 2022 on Twitter. She shared her problem on Twitter via a statement on Monday. Without naming anyone, she ended her message by saying, ”she is positive to bring a medal to the country by overcoming politics.”
Notably, Lovlina’s allegation came just 3 days before the games are about to start in England’s Birmingham. Earlier in June while attending the opening ceremony of the Gauhati Town Club Boxing Academy, she said, ”I am confident and I will try my best to bring a medal from the meet.”
In her post, she wrote in Hindi, ”Aaj mein bade dukh ke sath kehti hoo ki mere sath bahot harrassment ho rahi hai. Har baar mein mere coaches jinhone mujhe Olypmics mein medal lane mai madat ki, unhe baar baar hata kar meere training process aur competition mein humesha harrassment karte hai (I am very sad to say that I am facing harrassment. Coaches who helped me to win a medal in the Olympics are not being allowed to train me for the competition.”
She added, ”Coach Sandhya Gurungji Dronacharya awardee…ko camp mein bhi training ke liye hazar baar hath jodne ke baad bohot late include kiya jata hai (Sandhya Gurungji, a Dronacharya awardee…She has to beg numerous times then she is included).
The problem shared by Lovlina in the post is said to be a very serious concern and it also raises serious questions against the top boxing authorities.

Lovlina further said, ”Abhi mere coach Sandhya Gurungji Commonwealth Village ke bahar hia unhe entry nahi mil rahi hai or mera training process games ke thik 8 din pehle ruk gaya hai. Mere dusre coach ko bhi India vapas bhej diya gaya hai (My coach Sandhya Gurugji is outside the Commonwealth village. She is not getting an entry. My training is standstill since the last 8 days. My second coach has been sent back to India).”
”Mujhe samajh me nahi aaraha ki mai game mai kese focus karu. Iske chalte mera last world championships bhi kharab hua..or is politics ke chalte mai apna CWG kharab nahi krna chahti hoon (I am not been able to undestand how I focus on my game. Owing to the same reason, my last world championships were spoiled…and I really do not want to perform badly in the CWG due to this politics).”
