New Delhi: As India gears up to face the West Indies in a two-match Test series starting on Wednesday in Dominica, images of the team donning their new Test jerseys have surfaced online, sparking a mixed reaction from fans.
This Test series marks the beginning of India’s new World Test Championship (WTC) cycle, following their recent break from international duties after the World Test Championship final against Australia. During the WTC final, India sported jerseys from their new kit sponsor, Adidas, which received positive feedback from fans. Notably, the team name was displayed on the front of the jersey instead of the lead shirt sponsor’s name.
However, Dream11 has now acquired the rights to be the new jersey sponsor, replacing the team name on the front. As pictures of players wearing the new jersey circulated on social media, fans expressed their disappointment with the change.

The prominent placement of the Dream11 logo in the spot previously occupied by the team name during the WTC final has left many fans unimpressed. India captain Rohit Sharma also shared a selfie on his Instagram stories wearing the new jersey.
The two-Test series against the West Indies signifies India’s quest for redemption in the WTC after their previous final defeats against New Zealand in 2019 and Australia earlier this year. The team has made some changes for the series, with veteran batsman Cheteshwar Pujara being dropped and young talent Yashasvi Jaiswal expected to make his international debut, batting in the No.3 slot that Pujara has occupied for much of his career.
While including Jaiswal has received praise, the selection of senior players such as Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma has drawn criticism. Former India captain and batting legend Sunil Gavaskar expressed his opinion, suggesting that younger players like Sarfaraz Khan should have been given an opportunity against the West Indies, considering the team’s current form.
