New Delhi: FIFA World Cup 2022 will kick off on November 20 in Qatar. The Al Bayt Stadium is set to witness a great show for the opening ceremony with singing and dancing sensations performing. The opening ceremony will be held before the first game between Qatar and Ecuador. The event will have cultural performances depicting the heritage of the hosts, while it will also feature global artists.
BTS singer Jungkook has confirmed that he will be performing his soundtrack ‘Dreamers’ at the Al Bayt Stadium. Though a confirmed list of performers is not out yet, there are some faces associated with the theme song creation who might be performing during the opening ceremony. Nora Fatehi, who was part of this year’s FIFA World Cup anthem ‘Light The Sky’ has confirmed that she will be performing at the FIFA Fan Fest. The Bollywood diva is also expected to perform at the opening ceremony. Colombian singer J Balvin, singer Nicki Minaj and rapper Lil Baby, who also released the anthem, are also expected to perform at the event. Meanwhile, ‘Waka Waka’ singer Shakira has backed out after criticism and popstar Dua Lipa said that she will visit Qatar once they fulfil all the human rights pledges.
When and where to watch?
The opening ceremony will begin at 7:30 pm IST (5:00 pm local time) at Al Bayt Stadium. The event will be telecast live on Sports18 in India. The OTT viewers can catch the live streaming on the Jio Cinema app and the website for free.
