FIFA World Cup 2022: Rolls Royce to each Saudi player as ‘reward’ for beating Argentina

New Delhi: According to reports, each player in the Saudi team that defeated Argentina in the FIFA World Cup will get a Rolls Royce from the royal family. After a national holiday and massive celebrations, the nation is still in a hangover from the unexpected victory of Messi’s team. Reportedly, Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud will gift each player a RM 6 million Rolls Royce Phantom.

Saudi Arabia’s players will each receive a $460,000 Rolls Royce from Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud after upsetting Argentina in the World Cup.

Messi scored the first goal of the game off a penalty in the 10th minute and it was going like an expected one-sided match for Argentina. However, in the second half,  Saleh Al-Shehri levelled the score and Salem Al-Dawsari scored the second one. The top performance came from the Saudi goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais who defended well and did not let the Argentine attack level the score. After the full-time, the scoreline stood 2-1 in favour of Saudi Arabia as they recorded a historic win.

The game ended Argentina’s 36-match unbeaten streak and can be named as one of the greatest upsets in the history of the World Cup. While the nation was celebrating the victory, the Saudi government declared a holiday for all public and private sector employees as well as for students. A Rolls Royce seems to be a valid gift as it has come as a reward for beating the two-time world champions.

Saudi Arabia will face Poland while Argentina will look out to win against Mexico to stay in the race for the World Cup trophy.
